You might think that playsets designed to reinforce certain gender-specific stereotypes would have fallen out of fashion these days? But, in fact, quite the reverse; play kitchens and pretend cookware have never been so popular.
Maybe it’s the popularity of ‘foody’ programmes on TV such as Bake-Off and Masterchef that have spurred renewed interest? Or, maybe, it’s just an acceptance that kids like to role play in a domestic setting?
