Fathers Day Apron

If you are anything like me, then you struggle for ideas of what to give daddy for father’s day. I always like the children to give him something homemade if possible, even if it’s just a homemade card. I feel this is so much more personal and it ensures the children make an effort to make daddy feel good.

This year is no different, but after spending a long time searching through pinterest, I fell in love with the idea of making an apron. Daddy enjoys cooking his BBQ’s and sunday roasts, so I thought this was a great idea.

My mum made a plain apron for me, then I wrote the words ‘The Best Dad Hands Down’ on it using fabric pens which I got from Hobbycraft. Next, we used my mums fabric paints to paint the children’s hands and make handprints on the apron.

I am really impressed with how the apron turned out. It looks much better than I expected.

The children had fun making their handprints and now can’t wait to give it to daddy on Fathers day! Let’s hope they can keep the secret that long 😉

  1. That looks brilliant – what a fantastic idea for a gift and it really did turn out incredibly well. It turns something fairly boring into something amazing 🙂

  2. That is a lovely idea, I wonder if you can get plain white aprons? We’ve already sorted Daddy’s present but I like the idea of a personalised apron 🙂

  3. Lovely idea, I never know what to get my husband for Father’s Day, he generally goes and buys himself a tool of some sort!
